Arizona Property Management Mogul Banned From Real Estate
April 7, 2008 by Scott SeckelMark Bosworth, founder of property management company Gorenter.com, Bosworth Commercial, and Mark Bosworth and Associates, was banned in early April from conducting real estate business in Arizona by the state Department of Real Estate.
The action came on the heels of a January $17.4 million civil judgment against Bosworth and his wife in Maricopa County Superior Court.
Bosworth has had a significant presence in Personal Real Estate Investor magazine for the past four years, both in advertising and editorial content.
The judgment, on behalf of TEM Holdings, declared Bosworth violated sales agreements, submitted false invoices on rental properties for work that was never performed or even capable of being performed, and stole appliances and deposits from rental properties.
The $17 million judgment included punitive damages of more than $12 million. The case is being appealed on the basis of facts and law.
The state is conducting 22 investigations into Bosworth’s companies. Complaints were also issued against Bosworth companies under the names of Home America Property Management and Property Masters of America.
Bosworth has been ordered to cease and desist practicing real estate in any form in Arizona.
