Real Estate Investment Better Than Ever
January 29, 2008 by Scott SeckelCheck out this chart on MSNBC. It's a look at the top 20 winning and losing real estate markets. (Who knew Wenatchee, Washington would be such a winner, with a 79 percent gain in five years?)
What' most interesting about the chart are the numbers for the 20 lowest markets. Look at the one-year change, and you'll see drops of eight, nine, and even 13 percent. However, when you compare those drops with the five-year gains, the returns are staggering: 60, 80, 90 percent. Shave off the declines, and investors still won by huge percentages.
What bad market?
